Kenneth G Waring

NASHVILLE – Kenneth “Ken” Edward Waring, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Born in Quitman County, MS on September 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Frank Gibson Waring, Jr. and Edna Lee Stuart Waring. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank “Bub” Waring, III.

Ken retired from Honeywell in Rocky Mount and Frisby Aerospace in Clemmons. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, member of the With God We Can! ministry, congregation council, church property maintenance, faithful church and Sunday School attendee. Ken enjoyed watching football, scouting, fixing things (nickname was “Mr. Fix It”), and gardening. He loved spending time outdoors with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and will be missed by all who knew him.

Ken is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roberta “Bobbie” Bostrom Waring; his daughter, Melanie Waring of Nashville; his sons, Jason Waring, Sr. of Nashville and Patrick Duggan and wife, Lynda, of Nolensville, TN; his grandchildren, Jason Waring, Jr., Jay’ Kobe Waring, Kristen Pridgen, Shazel Waring, Kenidrin Waring, Makhii Waring, Ethan Duggan, Evan Duggan, and Samuel Duggan; his brother, Fred Waring and wife, Norma; his sisters, Margaret Holden and husband, John, and Lee “Bitsy” Marske; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 433 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Pastor Alice Johnson-Curl officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Trinity Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ken’s memory to Trinity Lutheran Church, 433 S. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
