Benjamin Wayne Tyson

Benjamin Wayne Tyson, 91, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born July 31, 1926 in Nash County to the late Charlie and Mamie Layton Tyson. He loved his family, church, golfing and old cars. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Randolph, Richard Sr., Alvin, Willie and Hubert Tyson, Louis, J.W. and Ernest Bowden, sisters, Bessie and Rochelle Tyson, Johnnie Bell and Louise Bowden.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Linda Joyner Tyson; son, Mike Tyson and wife Sandy; brother, Robert Tyson; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 PM with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Robin Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
