Alice Virginia Turner

Alice Virginia Williams Tanner, 87, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024. She was born January 11, 1937 in Wilson County to the late Lawrence and Ella Phillips Williams. Alice loved her family, gardening, farming, and singing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Gray Tanner; son, Ernest “Tee” Tanner; three sisters; one brother.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Richard “Tump” Tanner; daughter, Sandra “Jo” Martin (Keith); grandchildren, Brandy, Kelly, Jason, Matthew, Markus, Johnny, and Lianne; great-grandchildren, Allie, Ethan, Austin, Haylee, Timothy, and Leighton; several special nieces and nephews.
Visitation with family and friends will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held in the Chapel at 2:00 pm wit Pastor Bill Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
