Mary "Joyce" Harris Tetterton

Mary “Joyce” Harris Tetterton passed away on January 20, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Richard Harris and Annie King Harris of Pitt County. She was born on April 10, 1936 in the Belvoir Community of Pitt County. She was married to the late Delmer Clinton (D.C.) Tetterton of Pantego, son of the late Eva and David Tetterton.
She is survived by three brothers, Harold Harris, Tommy and wife Vicky Harris, and Johnny and wife Teresa Harris, all of Belvoir. She is also survived by a sister-in-law and brother-in-laws, Ruth Linton of Plymouth, Jack and wife Frances Tetterton of Jamesville, Johnny Tetterton of Jamesville, Tommy Tetterton of Rocky Mount, and many nieces and nephews. She has two two children, Lynne Smith of Cary, and Lisa and husband, Ricky West of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
A funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. on, Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church, 505 S. Englewood Drive, Rocky Mount conducted by her grandson, Shane Smith. Burial took place at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family received friends at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville from 5:30 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2011.
