Mary Elizabeth Tedder

Mary Elizabeth “Candy” Tedder, 71, of Sims, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Bailey Church of God. Rev. Jason Gabbard will officiate. Interment will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 – 1:00 at Bailey Church of God, as well as on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 at the family residence.

Candy is survived by her daughters, Beth Tedder Siko and husband, Augustus, Jr. of Middlesex, and Karen Tedder Gabbard and husband, Jason of Sims; grandchildren, Nathaniel Pearson and wife, Kaity, Hannah Pearson, Shanna Gabbard, Selah Gabbard, Joyana Gabbard, Josiah Gabbard and Judah Gabbard; brother, William “Bill” James Benfield and wife, Carissa of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Lois Collins of Knoxville Tennessee; her special nieces and nephew, Ashlie Moser, Ava Benfield and Bradley Benfield; her special furry companion, Sadie Grace and the loving extended Tedder family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Paul Emerson Tedder; parents, Lawrence Roosevelt Benfield and Elizabeth Taylor Benfield; brothers, J.D. Collins, Don Collins.

Flowers are welcome as well as memorial donations in Candy’s name to Bailey Church of God Building Fund, 5918 Stott Street, Bailey, North Carolina, 27807.
