Mayme Bennett Taylor

Mayme Bennett Taylor, 84, died Monday, Dec. 11, 1995.
She was born Oct. 28, 1911, in Nash County, daughter of the late Sidney L. and Cassie Baker Bennett. A graduate of Red Oak High School, Mrs. Taylor founded and chartered the Debuette Club in May of 1965. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving: one son, Alsey Taylor of Rocky Mount; two daughter, Connie Redder of Disputanta, Va. and Judy Stallings of Rocky Mount; three grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Dwight Bennett of Salem; four sisters, Jeanette Pittman of Salem, Virginia Keelan of Nashville, Cassie (Bet) Cole and Susie Stephenson, both of Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Avenue Chapel, with the Rev. Caswell E. Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, other times at 932 Cedarbrook Dr.
