Ronald K Strum

ROCKY MOUNT – Ronald Keith Strum, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on January 8, 1933, he was the son of the late James Benjamin Strum and Lottie Frazier Strum. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn “Kathy” Pittman Strum; and eight siblings.
Ronald had 20 years of dedicated service in the United States Air Force. He retired after 15 years of service with Burlington Industries. He was involved in the Christian Community Service Ministries of Nashville, NC. Ronald enjoyed fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Ronald will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Ronald leaves behind to cherish his memory, son, Donald “Donnie” Strum and fiancé, Sally Humphries, of Pauline, SC; and daughters, Teresa “Terri” Rackley and husband, Tim, of Rocky Mount and Lisa Strum Allen of Nashville. He is also survived by grandchildren, Bryan Rackley, Daniel Rackley, April “Jay” Strum and wife, Jamie, and Christopher Allen and husband, Justin; sisters, Catherine “Cat” Nelms of Louisburg, Kay Provetero and husband, John, of Cape Carteret, and Gayle Miller and husband, Barry, of Crozet, VA and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. David Joyner officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
