Daniel Ray Strickland

Daniel “Ray” Strickland, 82, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 at Nash General Hospital.
Born March 20, 1920 in Nash County, he was the son of the late Willie Daniel and Lattie Ray Winstead Strickland. Ray was a very active member of Englewood United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Dixon’s Furniture Co., Inc. He loved his family, his church, fishing, and traveling with his senior groups.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Willie Johnson Strickland.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife for 60 years, Louraine Ingram Strickland; his son, Wayne Strickland and wife, Barbara of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Sherri Carter and husband, Clint; Stephanie Beasley and husband, Mark; and Arian Janke and husband, Dean; and his great-grandchildren, Ashley; Heather; Brooke; Cullen; Sophia; Kenneth; Garrett; and Tatum.
The family will receive family and friends Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Bowling Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002 at 2 p.m.at Englewood United Methodist Church with Rev. George Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
