Dwight Wayne Stevens

Dwight W. Stevens, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Born in Somerset, KY on September 17, 1946, he was the son of the late Gorman Stevens and Bortha New Stevens. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Stevens and Eddie Stevens.

Dwight was a proud Navy veteran that serviced his country in Vietnam. He enjoyed going to car shows in his younger years. Dwight loved to relax and watch westerns and war movies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, but his loving spirit will never be forgotten as he was everything to his family.

Dwight is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shelby McClenny Stevens; his daughters, Tammy Barrile (Bryan), Michelle Grissom (Cory), and Velvet “Dawn” Bradshaw; his son, Michael Stevens; his thirteen grandchildren; and his ten great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Military honors.
