Cynthia Ann Speight

GREENVILLE – Cynthia Ann Speight, age 68, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. Born in Nash County, NC on December 17, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Horace Shearon and Johnnie Belle Wheeler Shearon.
Cynthia was not a homebody; she loved to travel, especially to the beach. She enjoyed going out to eat. Some of her hobbies were talking on the phone as much as she could and keeping her husband in line, especially when it came to golf. Cynthia loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching football games. She enjoyed spoiling all her family. Cynthia was close to all of her family and loved them all dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.
Cynthia is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Speight; her daughters, Heather Pernell, of Newport News, VA and Jennifer Hemilright and husband, Benjamin “Benji”, of Cary; her step-daughter, Cheryl Mastroianni and husband, Greg, of Charlotte; her step-son, Andy Speight and wife, Hilde, of Greenville; her grandchildren, Ian Hemilright, Olivia Mastroianni, Rose Mastroianni, Naomi Mastroianni, Caleb Speight, and Jonas Speight; and her brothers, Jimmy Shearon and wife, Laurie, of Elm City, and John Robert “Howdy” and wife, Brenda, of Rocky Mount.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Tim Parker officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the parlor of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
