Goleta Earp Sherrod

Goleta Earp Sherrod, age 88, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020. Born in Nash County, NC on April 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Luther Cannie “L.C.” Earp and Lula Denton Earp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Earl Sherrod; her brothers, Lee Vester Earp, William Henry Earp, and Frank Earp; and her sisters, Nolia Earp Jones, Goldie Earp Bailey, Doretha Earp Lamm, Yvonne Earp Williams, and Dona Murray.

Goleta is survived by her son, Edward Earl Sherrod and wife, Kathy, of Nashville; her daughters, Jackie Sherrod Jones and husband, Dwight, of Tarboro, and Elaine Sherrod Cobb and husband, Tim, of Wilson; her grandchildren, Stephen Jones and wife, Mandy, Amanda Jones Riddle and husband, Darrell, and Lauren DiFilippantonio and husband, Andrew; her great-grandchildren, Nate Jones, Meghen Riddle, Abby Riddle, Logan Riddle, and Parker DiFilippantonio; and her brother, Cecil Earp, of Cheraw, SC.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Dale Eatmon officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

A Private Family Burial will take place at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
