John H Shelton

John Harper Shelton, 80, passed away Friday, March 8, 2002 at Nash General Hospital. He was born October 5, 1921, son of the lateJohn Harper and Eva Hamilton Shelton. John was a WWII Army veteran. He retired from Burlington Industries after 35 years, during which he served as textile plant manager for various locations.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 55 years, Elvira Robey Shelton; his daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Jerry Hamrick, of Rocky Mount; his sons and daughter-in-laws, John Harper and Mona of Washington, N.C., and David Andrew and Jayna of Mesa, AZ; his grandchildren, Shannon Garcia and husband, Mario, of Charlotte, NC, Jed Hamrick of Lexington, KY, Sarah Shelton of Graham, NC, and Eli Shelton of Washington, NC; his great grandchildren, Andrew and Meredith Garcia; his brothers, Dr. William Shelton and wife, Bird, of Boydton, VA, Curtis Shelton and wife, Kathryn, of Knoxville, TN.
