Carrie H. Rose

Carrie Hopewell Rose, 79, died Sunday, March 21, 1999. She was born April 27, 1919 in Martin County, daughter of the late James F. and Nellie Sanderson Hopewell. Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Rose. She was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church for 30 years.
Survivng: daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Ronald Webb of Rocky Mount, Agnes and Harold Johnson of Port Tobacco, Md.; step-daughters and sons-in-law, Lila and Earl Joyner of Whitakers, Gladys Rose and Louise and Bill Pridgen, both of Rocky Mount, Mary Knight of Suffolk, Va.; 23 grandchildren; and numeroud great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Avenue, with the Rev. W. Glenn Hill, the Rev. Marty Coggins and the Rev. Andy Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, and other times at 2424 Alex Lane, Rocky Mount.
