Floyd Rogers

Floyd Rogers, age 91, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016. Born in Wilson County, NC on October 3, 1924, he was the son of the late Alex Rodgers and Sue Amerson Rodgers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rogers; son-in-law, Braxton Sherrod; and nine brothers and sisters.

Floyd worked with Anderson Tractor Co., in Enfield, for 17 years. He retired from Perry’s Volkswagen of Rocky Mount in 1988 after 24 years of service. He was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount and he also attended First Free Will Baptist Church of Rocky Mount.

Floyd leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Donald Rogers and wife, Judy, of Nashville; William Rogers and wife, Dianne, of Rocky Mount; and Vickie R. Sherrod of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Jacky Raper officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
