Florene Maynard Robertson

BATTLEBORO – Florene Maynard Robertson, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Born in Nash County, NC on February 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Silas T. Maynard and Emma Boardsworth. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Louis “Mickey” McLeon Radford, Linwood Walker, and Dr. Leon Robertson; sisters, Eva Collie Bryant and Elizabeth Rowe Nines; brothers, William Maynard and Frank Maynard; daughter, Edith Helen Radford Joyner; son-in-law, Gerald Joyner; and grandchild, Dennis Joyner.
Florene was a LPN for over 40 years. She loved her patients and her patients loved her and at times would call her at home. She was a member of West Mount Baptist Church. Florene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all. She will be missed by all who knew her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.
Florene leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Michael Radford and wife, Brenda, of Battleboro. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kevin Radford, Kile Radford, Kelly Radford, Jennifer Joyner Manning, and Joey Joyner; great-grandchildren, Eliza Radford, Isabelle Radford, Evan Radford, Sara Grace Whitley, Katelin Manning Patterson, James Joyner, Joseph Joyner, Skylar Devers and C.J. Devers; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will follow the Graveside Service.
The family would like to thank the staff at Breckenridge Retirement Center for the outstanding care that Florene was given during her stay.
