Bernice Ellis Riley

Bernice R. Ellis, 80, of Hillsborough, NJ passed away on Tuesday Feb. 3, 2009 at Football Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough. She was born and raised in Newark, NJ and lived in several towns throughout PA, NY, and NJ before settling in Hillsborough in 1969. Bernice was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Hillsborough. She was a member of the Alter Rosery Society, and a coordinator for Emergency Meals. Bernice enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends. She made friends wherever she went and was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded by her husband James in 1989. Surviving are her son, Thomas and his wife Patricia Ellis and her daughter Patricia Hamblin both of Hillsborough and her dear grandchildren, Thomas Jr. and Lauren Ellis, and Christopher, Kelly and Ryan Hamblin.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, 9:15am at the Hillsborough Funeral Hone, 796 Rt. 206, Hillsborough followed by a 10:00am Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Hillsborough. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetary, East Millstone. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 &7-9 at the funeral home.
