Suzanne Debruhl Rainey

Suzanne DeBruhl Rainey passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on January 2, 2020. She was born in Old Fort on August 26, 1937 to the late Nat and Kate DeBruhl. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Nat DeBruhl, Jr., a sister Sara Drake and a son-in-law Staley Collins.
She loved spending time and making memories with her 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Suzanne loved to cook and bake her specialties for her family and friends. She left memorable family traditions to cherish and enjoy for many years to come. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church. Suzanne retired from Abbott Laboratories.
Suzanne is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Lee Rainey; her sons Lee Rainey Jr. (Sandy), Nat Rainey (caregiver as her health declined in recent years); her daughters Bonnie Jones (Danny), Lee Ann Price (David), Kay Collins; her grandchildren Leslee Blake, Kelly Martin, Ryan Jones, Garrett Rainey, Forrest Rainey, Mary Katelyn Kersey (Justin), Braxton Collins; her great grandchildren David Brumfield, Madison Brumfield, Katie Brumfield, Elizabeth Martin, Hailey Martin, Emma Martin, Collins Kersey; her brother George DeBruhl; her sister Rose DeBruhl; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 6, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville with Daniel Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM.
