Virginia Harris Pittman

Mrs. Virginia Harris Pittman, 47, of Whitakers, Rt. 2, died Friday.Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 pm at Johnson Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Robinson and Dr. P. C. Peacock. Burial will be in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Surviving are her husband, Henry A. Pittman; one son, Donnie Pittman, of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Dickens of Portsmouth, Va., Mrs. Lessie Bitier of Hammond, Ind., Mrs. Grace Bryant of Roanoke Rapids and Mrs. Mary Thomas of Rocky Mount; thre brothers, George Harris of Whitakers, Rt. 2, Melvin of Nashville, Rt. 3, and Lee Harris of Baltimore, Md. She had been a resident of the Salem Comunity all her life and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
