George G Petway

George Gray Petway, 82, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003. He was born in Nash County, December 6, 1920, son of the late George Troy and Effie Eleanor Boone Petway. Mr. Petway was a retired clerk with Seaboard Coastline Railroad and a veteran with the U.S. Marines.
Survivors are his wife, Rose Campbell Petway of the home, daughter, Pamela Langley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sons, Jimmy Petway, Timothy Gray Petway, both of Rocky Mount and David Petway of St. Petersburg, Fla.; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, with Dr. William Tomlinson officiating. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Custom Funerals and Cremations, 1912 Sunset Ave., Rocky Mount, NC.
