Obituary for John Peace
John Peace, 79, passed away July 10, 2023. He was born in Edgecombe County to the late Robert and Dollie Mae Peace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Thompson; brothers Buck, Henry, Ray, Raymond, Tom and Shorty; sisters Dean, Teeny and Louise. John loved his family, working on the backhoe & excavator and riding his motorcycle.

John leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Nellie Peace; grandchildren Brandy Lancaster (Jamie) and Billy Moss (Krista); great grandchildren Austin, Harley (Blake), Julianna, Jesse, Fisher and Hayley; great grandchild Sawyer; brother Doug Peace (Christine); sisters Frances Harlow and Jean Crabtree; several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Harvest Baptist Church. The service will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Mike Dew officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
