Rocky Mount –

Margaret Behrendt Patterson, age 96, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday morning, February 20, 2024 with her children by her side. Her journey began in Rocky Mount on September 17, 1927, daughter of Alfred and Helen Holmes Behrendt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ray Patterson and son, Kenneth Patterson.

She is survived by her devoted children, Alton “Ray” Patterson (Elaine) and Donna Patterson Bragg, all of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Betty Marie Pugh; brother-in-law, Mick Patterson; and her purrrrrfectly sweet companion, Dusty; along with many family friends and other extended relatives.

Her world was further blessed as her family grew to include four grandchildren, Lorie Ward (Tim), Leslie Williams (Alvin), Michael Steven Bragg (Ashley), and Dylan Patterson (Bethany); great-grandchildren, Madalyn High, Damien and Jakob Cadena, Kyleigh and Ty Bragg, and Tatum and Hayes Patterson; and great-great-grandson, Ezra King.

A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at 7:00pm, Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Davis-Little Funerals, 2129 Lawrence Circle, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 6:00pm.
