He served on several Boards over the years including INCO, Inc.; West Mount Fire Department; Campbell University Board of Trustees and Presidential Board of Advisors. After his retirement he returned to gardening and became a master baker and chef. He loved spending time with his family.
DeLeon was a member of Edgemont Baptist Church and his desire is for all to come to know the love and saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
DeLeon leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years, Constance Dawes Parker; son DeLeon Parker, Jr and wife, Khristy; daughters Angela P Davis and husband Dexter, Gwendolyn P Rigsby, and Terry Parker all of Rocky Mount. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Eric Griffin and wife Leanna, Barry Griffin and wife Brooke, Mable Davis and Vann Davis, Olive Ann Parker, Lottie Parker and Fenner Parker, and 2 great grandchildren, BJ and David Tyson, and many nieces and nephews.
