ROCKY MOUNT – Mary Jane Faunce Niswonger, age 66, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Born in Elkhart County, IN on February 22, 1954, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin Faunce and Marthetta Brown Faunce. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Dianna Marie.

Jane married Joseph Michael Niswonger on July 13, 1970 in Mishawaka, IN, and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past summer. She lived in the Rocky Mount area for more than 30 years. Jane was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Jane is survived by her husband, Joseph Michael Niswonger; her sons, Jerry Allen Niswonger and wife, Betty, of Garner, Joseph Milton Niswonger and wife, Crystal, of Rolesville, Paul Kenneth Niswonger and wife, Lisa, of Clayton; her daughter, Michelle Lynn Patterson and husband, Jeffery, of Elm City; her brothers, John Arthur Faunce and wife, Paddi, and Michael Eugene Faunce; her 12 grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Southside Baptist Church, 4948 Carter Road, Elm City, NC 27822, with Rev. Alvin Davis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Southside Baptist Church.
