Janice Roebuck Meyer

November 25, 1943 ~ July 7, 2023
Janice Roebuck Meyer, 79, released our hands and went with Jesus Friday evening 7/7/23. She was surely greeted with the biggest “Roebuck welcome home” by the family already in heaven – her parents, two sisters, four brothers, a niece, two nephews, three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
How do we summarize the life of someone so precious? The time between her birth and her last breath would take countless volumes to describe. – to tell how this woman grew up, married, made us, raised us, loved us, and then left us with an unending legacy of love, loyalty and the power of family. She loved the Lord and she loved her family. If she loved you then you knew without a doubt she was always in your corner, no matter what. She loved with everything she had – deeply, fully and with her entire heart.
She lived a life of service, to her family as wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She also joyfully served the hundreds of students she taught over the thirty years she taught math. She would stay hours after school to help students even if it was just one student that needed her help. She loved teaching and helping students realize their potential. She enjoyed math and sometimes forget that not everyone had deep thoughts on the derivation of the Pythagorean theorem.
She loved flowers and birds. The last several months of her life she found contentment and joy in her flowers and multiple bird feeders on her porch. She loved to tell stories about her childhood and growing up in the Methodist Home for Children in Raleigh. She had 8 biological siblings she loved and adored but dozens more MHFC brothers and sisters that she also loved and cherished.
Left to cherish her memory and to continue to serve others as she did are Charles (Peanut) Meyer, her husband of 57 years, daughter Pam Kaczmarek (Didier), son Edward Meyer (Donna), daughter Kathryn Meyer-Dillard (Danny) and her precious daughter Kim Meyer. Six grandchildren Kristina Lucas (Jeremy), Tristian Gilmore, Charles Kaczmarek, Bethany Meyer, Kelsea Kaczmarek (Kelsey), Kayla Meyer. Four great grandchildren Kate Lucas, Cole Lucas , Chloe Lucas and Quinn Nicholson. Two precious sisters, Minne Curtis and Alice Thomas also survive and multiple nieces and nephews.
Flowers are appreciated. Memorial donations may be made in Janice’s memory to the Methodist Home for Children Alumni association BRG Scholarship fund. (www.mo-mhcalumniassoc.org)
