Mary Ernestine Maynard

Mary Ernestine Smith Maynard, 95, born on November 6th, 1927, in Rocky Mount, NC, went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 20th, at her home in Hickory, NC.

Ernestine is survived by a son, Robert Maynard and wife Rita; daughter, Carol Beck; son-in-law Bill McMillan; grandchildren, Chris and Jason Maynard, Jennifer Sterbens, Julie and Jerry Beck, Jessica and Billy McMillan; and great-grandchildren, Brian and Kaya Klimala, Jaylen and Ava Beck, Emma Johnson, and Aiyana Norcross.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dr. Millard Maynard; her son, Ernest Vann Maynard and daughter, Sandra Diane McMillan; her parents, Claudia and John Smith; and 9 brothers and sisters.

Ernestine married the love of her life, Rev. Dr. Millard Maynard, on August 25th, 1945. She worked and retired from Robeson County Schools as an executive office assistant. She was a devout pastor’s wife and mother.
