Donald Ray Langley, 72, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born May 6, 1943 in Nash County to the late Russell Sr. and Thelma Lindsey Langley. In addition to his parents, Donald Ray was also preceded by a brother, Russell Langley, Jr.; and a sister, Naomi Langley.
If you knew Donald Ray Langley, you know that he loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and he is rejoicing in his new heavenly home. He was a member and deacon at Corinth Baptist Church for almost 40 years. He also served his church as a trustee, Sunday school teacher, and youth director. Donald also enjoyed coaching different sports and he served as president of the PTO, president of the Band Boosters and Athletics Booster Clubs, and president of the Nash Recreation Swim Club.
Donald Ray was also known as a hard working business man. He worked as a labor contractor in the tobacco and forestry industries until his retirement in 2007.
He was not only a community servant, but he was also a loving family man who opened his home and his heart to many people, especially his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all of their friends. It`s obvious that he never met a stranger.
The world has lost a brave and generous man who constantly did good for others and always stood up for what was right.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Shelia Williams Langley; daughters, Naomi Langley and Renee Langley Adams and husband Harvey; sons, Donnie Langley and wife Layla, and Randall Langley and wife Christy; brother, Ralph Langley; sister, Dolly Joyner and husband Arnold; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Langley and Diane Hinson; brother-in-law, Bernie Williams and wife Edna; grandchildren, Robbie Wrenn and wife Alyssa, Charley, Ryan, and Joshua Adams, Russell, Mason, and Gavin Langley; and great-grandchildren, Aubree and Scarlett Wrenn.
