Alvin G Joyner

Alvin Glyn “John” Joyner, 70, died Thursday, March 6, 1997.
He was born January 4, 1927, in Nash County, son of the late Nathan and Bessie Wallace Joyner. He was co-owner of Merritt Plumbing and Heating Company. He was retired from Fountain Correction Center.
Surviving: wife, Gladys Pridgen Joyner; daughter, Talley Shull and Berrie Smith, both of Rocky Mount; brothers, Hermand Joyner, Selby Joyner, Lynwood B. Joyner, and Vernon Wallace, all of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin R. Joyner.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Ave. Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Ball officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
