James Jones Jr.

James “Bud” Jones, Jr., age 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Born in Wilson County, NC on November 8, 1924, he was the son of the late James O. Jones and Mary Elizabeth Jones. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Estelle Robbins and Eva Holliday; and two brothers, Henry Jones and Donald Ray Jones.

James leaves behind to cherish his memory, three sisters, Gladys Leonard of Kinston, Ginger Collie of Kinston and Inez Walker of DeRidder, LA. He is also Survived by several nieces and nephews.

James served his country in the Korean War with the Company C. 634th Armed Infantry. He received a Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart and Korean Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars. James loved his country as well as fishing and hunting.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
