REV. SOLOMON JONES
The Rev. Solomon Jones, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wilton Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park, , Surviving: wife, Mrs. Luberta Jones; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Johnson-Hill of Columbia, Md., and Mrs. Lubertha Marie Kelly of Baltimore, Md.; three sons, William Solomon Jones of Camp Springs, Md., David Jones and Alton Lorenzo Jones, both of Rocky Mount; three brothers, Oliver Jones and Elbert Jones, both of Washington, D.C., and Robert Jones of Rocky Mount; five sisters, Jennie Vee Hale, Zelpha Elliott and Juanita Green, all of Washington, D.C., Elmeta Lewis of Nashville and Annie Cooper of Richmond, Va.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Hunter-Odom Funeral Service from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and other times at the home, Box 144, Old Halifax Road (Little Easonburg).
