Lisa C. Hardee Howell

Lisa C. Howell, age 54, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry E. Hardee.

She is survived by her son, Cody Harrison (Marissa) of Pinetops; mother, Lou Hardee of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Emma and Cole Harrison; brother, Hank Hardee (Christina) of Rocky Mount; and nieces, Ava and Amelia Hardee.

Lisa spent most of her life enriching the lives of children as an elementary school teacher. Graduating from East Carolina University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and Teaching, she pursued her teaching career in the Nash and Edgecombe County Public School System at Braswell Elementary and G.W. Bulluck Elementary Schools. She attended ECU again in 1998 for her Master’s Degree in School Administration. She then returned to the public school system as the Principal at Coker Wimberly Elementary and Phillips Middle Schools and eventually retired as the Assistant Principal from G.W. Bulluck Elementary School. Lisa had a passion and drive for teaching, touching the lives of every student and co-worker she came into contact with. She will be dearly missed.

A service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park’s Chapel on the Hill, 4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount, NC 27801. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
