Phillip Wayne Hayes

Phillip “Wayne” Hayes, 72, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022. He was born August 14, 1950 in Nash County to the late Floyd and Edna Batchelor Hayes. Wayne loved his family, his fur babies, and especially his grandson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Hayes and a sister Tina Sullivan.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Mary of 50 years; his daughter Ashley Edwards- Sehgal and husband Rakesh; brother Floyd Hayes Jr. and wife Rosie; sister Linda Webb; grandchild Kasey Hayes Sehgal.

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 6:00-8:00pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Coley officiating. Entombment will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
