Mary Engle Griffin

Mary Engle Griffin, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Born in Whitley County, KY on December 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late William Russell Engle, Sr. and Ruth Snyder Engle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Griffin; brother, William Russell Engle, Sr.; and sister, Martha Jane Napier.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory, Melanie Halcomb of Spring Hope and Rona Halcomb Kirby and husband, Rick, of Anderson, SC. She is also survived by grandchildren, Bethany Halcomb, Reagan Kirby, Lander Kirby, Jack Kirby, Ryn Kirby, and Nickie Merritt; great-grandchildren, Destinie Merritt and Mason Merritt; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 331 Hammond Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Father Tim Meares officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 12:30 PM 1:30 PM prior to the service in the vestibule of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 331 Hammond Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or any SPCA.
