Linda Taylor Fitts

Linda Taylor Fitts, age 61, of Littleton, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Mrs. Fitts was born in Edgecombe County, the daughter of the late Kinchen Carl Taylor and Thelma Barnhill Taylor. She loved her church and was an active member. She was an active member of the Board of Realtors. Linda enjoyed and loved friends in the following organizations, Roanoke Rapids Jaycettes, The Goddess of the FABS, a number of bridge clubs, investment clubs, bowling, and the Lake Gaston Ladies Club, where she served as entertainment chairman, and Stage One. Surviving are her husband, Tandy Walker Fitts III; a daughter, Amy Fitts Daniels and her husband, Major Brian Daniels of Kerby, Kan.; a son, Walker Fitts and his wife, Kristen of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Carl Taylor and his wife, Nancy and family of Whitakers; seven grandchildren, Hunter Daniels, Tanner Daniels, Caleb Daniels, Kendall Grace Daniels and baby Daniels due in September, Alec Fitts and Reagan Fitts; mother-in-law, Josephine Fitts of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Sadie Bissette and family of Rocky Mount; brother-in-law, Bill Fitts and family of Warner Robins, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids, with the Rev. Tom Supplee officiating. An entombment service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joyce D’Ottavio, Anne Curto, Rachael Byrd, Linda Brewer, Sharon Foster, Sandy Lehman, Gail Gardner and Pat Lowry. The family will receive at Wrenn Clark and Hagan Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, Thursday, June 15, 2006, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: The Linda Fitts Memorial Scholarship Fund, to benefit relatives of members of the Lake Gaston Ladies Club.
