John "Jeffrey" Ferrell

John “Jeffrey” Ferrell, age 60, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on October 10, 1960, he was the son of the late Paul Orville Ferrell and Edna Beardsley Ferrell.

Jeffrey was a man of great faith. He was a long-time member of Englewood Baptist Church where he participated in many church ministry activities. Jeffrey served as a Sunday School Teacher and enjoyed coaching children’s sports teams at the church. He was employed by Carecentrix as a Computer Systems Administrator. Jeffrey was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and a friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 35 years, MaryDenise Celine Landis Ferrell of Rocky Mount; his daughters, Elice Danielle Ferrell of Brooklyn, NY and Kathleen Landis Ferrell of Greensboro, NC; his brothers, Paul “Mark” Ferrell and his wife, Michelle of Rocky Mount and Jerry Hicks Ferrell of Bridgeville, DE.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Jeffrey’s life will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Pastor Charles Taylor officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the wonderful staff at both The NC Cancer Hospital and Nash UNC Health Care Systems Hospice & Palliative Care for their kindness and compassion in their care for Jeffrey.
