Samuel “Sammy” Hugh Edwards

Samuel Hugh Edwards, 80, went to be with the Lord, Sunday July 16, 2017. He was born October 26, 1936 in Nash County to the late Guy and Frances Edwards of Spring Hope. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife who he truly loved and adored, Frances Whitley Edwards and a grandson Brandon Edwards. Sammy was a very loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His great belief and faith in the Lord kept him strong. He served proudly in Army and loved his country.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons Mark Edwards of Rocky Mount, Alex and Wendy Edwards of Nashville, Kevin and Toni Edwards of Rocky Mount; grandchildren Brittany, Joshua and Caleb Edwards; great granddaughter, Aliyah Blanton; very close friend that he loved like a brother Sonny Peele. Sammy loved all his church family and he knew how much they all loved him.
A visitation will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday July 19, 2017at Ridgecrest Worship Center with the service following at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
