Marvin Ray Daughtridge

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021 Marvin Ray Daughtridge passed away at the age of 80

Marvin was born November 8, 1940 in Rocky Mount, NC to Lee Roy and Siddie Daughtridge. After graduating he worked several places before settling into a career as an electrician. He was married in 1972 to Sylvia and they had one son, Michael. Upon his retirement, he started helping at Coastal Plain Charters Bus Co.

Marvin loved to work with his hands. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, from cabinets to tables even decks. He also loved being on his lawnmower and patrolling the neighborhood on his golf cart. To all that knew him, he will be remembered as a friend that would keep you entertained with stories form the good old days, as well as a kind hearted man that would do anything for the ones who knew them.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy, mother, Siddie, and sister Yvonne. He was survived by his wife Sylvia, son, Michael, daughter in law, DeAnne, sister, Faye, brothers in law Marion and Kenneth, as well as various cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, March 5, 2021 from 6:30-8:30 PM at home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park at 11:00AM with Mike Citro officiating.
