Rita Mae Webb Cobb

ROCKY MOUNT – Rita Mae Webb Cobb, age 69, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on September 6, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Wilber Vance Webb and Mae Wynne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Albert Cobb; her brothers, Ricky Webb and Rocky Webb; and her sister, Emily Turner.

Rita had a giving and caring nature and was a very outgoing person. She enjoyed spending time with her family and truly cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, caring sister, and friend to many, she will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Rita is survived by her son, Johnnie Ray Cobb and wife, Joy, of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Angela Cobb Brown and husband, Ken, of Nashville; her grandchildren, Kayla Boykin, Johnnie “Grey” Cobb, Dylan Brown, Alexus Brown, and Justin Brown; her three great-grandchildren; her sister, Lynnette Tant of Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Rita’s life will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
