James "Jim" Mclindy Cary

James “Jim” McLindy Cary, 89, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022. He was born November 1, 1932 in Wilson County to the late James and Marie Ayers Cary. He loved his family, his church, fishing, and watching the Atlanta Braves baseball. James proudly served and retired from the US Air Force. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lois Cary, and daughter Cindy Whitehurst; two sisters and three brothers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son Steve Cary and wife Sandra; son-in-law Alvin Whitehurst; brother Bobby Cary and wife Faye; grandchildren Eric Cook (Lisa), Christopher Cary (Brittany), Patrick Cook (Emily), Jay Cary, and Brittany Smith (Justin); seven great- grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be Friday, August 12, 2022 from 10:00-10:45am at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church fellowship hall. A funeral Service will follow at 11:00am with Dr. Robin Fisher officiating. Burial will be at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
