Betty Lou Griffin Bryant, age 86, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Born in Nash County, NC on September 13, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher Lee Griffin and Martha Elizabeth “Betty” Skinner Griffin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Berry William Bryant; brothers, William Cooper, Harvey Ray, Leslie Carlisle, and Perry Dean.
Betty worked for Almond’s Drug for many years. She touched the lives of so many people and will always be remembered with love and kindness. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all. She will be missed by all who knew her, but her loving spirit will never be forgotten as she was everything to her family.
Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, John “Shorty” Harris and wife, Millie, of Nashville; and daughter, Barbara Harris of Charlotte. She is also survived by grandchildren, Rodney Harris and wife, Lori, of Caseyville, IL, and April Harris of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Peyton, and Sophie; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Carlton Cockrell officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service and other times at the home of Shorty and Millie in Nashville.
The family would like to thank Dr. Crocker and his staff for caring for Betty the last 40 years and to Nash Health Care Systems for their care as well.
