Obituary
Larry Carlton Hodges, age 68, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on March 4, 1953, he was the son of the late Carlton Edward Hodges and Beulah Sherrod Hodges.
Larry retired with Kemper Life after 48 years of dedicated service. He was an avid Christian, attending several churches in the community: Alligood Church of God, 15th Street Church of God and 10th Street Church of Christ. Larry received a Certificate of Appreciation from The Annex Outreach Center from his efforts in helping young children and their families in his community. Larry loved being on the Pamlico River with his family and friends more than anything. He was an outstanding father and friend.
Larry is survived by his sons, Michael D. Hodges and Daniel D. Hodges of Washington; his four grandchildren, Brandon Hodges, Victoria Hodges, Blake Hodges, and Taylor Perry; his three brother, Garry E. Hodges (Janie), George J. Hodges (Linda), and Jerry Allen Hodges; his three sisters, Kathryn Drake, Betty S. Mercer (Steve), and Lois Hodges Moss; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends and relatives.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Gary Bateman and Rev. Tony Bossolono officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
